Sami Walt
RSW#854153 & CCC#11262422 Working Counsellor: Online & In person Sessions

Hi, my name is Sami.

I hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree of social work and have experience supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities. I have worked in hospital settings, including intensive care and emergency departments, where I supported individuals and families through crisis, trauma, and emotional distress.

I work with clients navigating a range of challenges such as anxiety, ADHD, trauma, depression, suicidal ideation, autism, and intellectual disabilities. My therapeutic approach is client-centred, trauma-informed, and solution-focused, with a strong emphasis on emotional regulation and building on each client’s strengths.

Creating a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space is central to my practice. I approach each therapeutic relationship with cultural humility, remaining open to learning from my clients’ lived experiences and continuously reflecting on my own areas for growth. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I strive to build meaningful connections that support healing, resilience, and self-awareness.

Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy cooking and baking, as well as staying active through hiking, rock climbing, and spending time at the gym.
